A chimney is not the complete solution to the problem of pollution control, A chimney achieves simultaneously in reduction in concentration of a number of pollutants (for exanmple co, co2, so2, so3, ash etc).

RCC Chimneys are in variably lined primarily to protect concrete and reinforcement against thermal and chemical attack from the flue gases. And thereby they (RCC chimney) remain buoyant (draft maintained) And aid plum raise (to disperse pollutants very far away) so that the RCC chimney (monolithic) will be permanent structure. The inner lining usually will be with Refractory Bricks of IS-6 /IS -8 quality (as per the chimney temperatures).

Now a day’s Pollution control board insisting to install wet scrubbers (which can be designed and supplied by us including FD, ID, fans , MDC (mechanical dust collectors of any capacity) If you use sulphur contained fuels, flue gases contains s02 and also installed wet scrubbers etc. so2 will become s03, by taking moisture from the flue gases. Due to water spray in the wet scrubbers and there by spoil the refractory lining as well as chimney also in a short period, so that better Acid Resistant Lining with suitable AR mortars, where the flue gas temperature will come down to 140 c and rest of the chimney lining can be fire brick where they will be higher than 140 c. RCC chimney cannot be a permanent structure without lining Air-gap /vent in between RCC and lining to increase the chimney life(specially for high pressure Boilers).
